Is there a way to check if the recovery disc is burned correctly?

    DVD 1: 4.16 gb
    DVD 2: 4.06 gb
    DVD 3: 585 mb

That is what I got. I'm thinking of deleting the partition (not sure if it is a good idea, but guides say that it recover some hd space).

well, i guess the recovery disc would be ok, since you would get an error code, if there was a problem.

if you need the hdd space you can delete the partition, and if anything should go wrong, you still can get the recovery media, or os installation discs from HP.

i thought the recovery discs only uses two discs. it's weird that you used 3. because i remember that cds were 14 discs i think and dvd single layer and dual layer were both 2 discs.

I think it depends on the version of Vista that you have, and what all hardware and software you have with your NB.
