Is there a way to get mbp style scrolling on the new dv6/dv7 notebooks?

This may have been mentioned in other threads, but I am most interested in this newer generation of synaptics trackpads on the hp, the synaptics touchpad 7.5.

As far as I can tell, the pad is pretty accurate, but it still feels too jerky for my tastes. I set the "wheel" option from 3 to 1, the lowest option, and that did smooth things out considerably, but it still feels more "stepped" instead of a sort of continuous scrolling feel the mbps have.

This looks to be primarily software, as such, there should be a software tweak. It also seems there is a more rough around the edges inertial scrolling effect with the coasting which is nice. The effect differs in that it is jerkier (though fixing the above would probably solve that), and the motion stops more abruptly as opposed to a smoother deceleration.

Again, is there any known software tweak to get these pads to mimic the functionality of the mbp pads? It seems the hardware is close enough to do the job, it's that the software is not configured to match it, for whatever reason... (software patents ?)

Does Reil's touchpad software really work on non-Envy style touchpads?

I have it on my Envy 14. Almost exactly like the MBP. Butter smooth scrolling with inertia. The MBP is still more sensitive and accurate though.

it works perfectly on all the envy/pavilions at least. i've been using it since i got my envy 14, and now using it on the dv6. works absolutely amazing.

the scrolling is virtually the same as mbp scrolling. try this setting:

    speed 100
    acceleration 145
    z threshold 100
    delta ratio 50
    easeinquad/duration 720

Tried it and it does work great. Question though, has anyone been getting strange behavior with pinch to zoom to zoom in and out of web pages? or does no one really use that?

edit: can someone give me a direct download to the site?
