Well the processor is kind of a weight on the system. If you are truly wanting to game, you should at least have an i5 processor. I just bought a similar system with the i7 processor which should definitely suffice for gaming. You do have a fantastic graphics card chosen for gaming though!

Are you using the code NBY8552? If you do, you can upgrade that processor to a i5-3210M (2.5GHz) and still be under or around $800.

Definitely try for the i5. Not that the i3 is a terrible processor, but if you're wanting to game the i5 or i7 is preferred.

Get the Core i5, Core i3 does not offer Turbo Boost, Core i5 does. Worth the extra money for certain. Borrow $30 from someone for the upgrade cost and pay them back later if you can't afford it now, the Core i3 would be the achilles heel of the system.

While you are at it, I should probably sway you to get a mSSD, really helps with overall system responsiveness and maybe game load time (as long as you don't change from game to game all the time)/

Upgrading to the Core i5-3210M isn't a bad investment. It won't make a difference in all games, but it has a fair chance to help in some games.

Though keep in mind that you shouldn't sacrifice the 1920x1080 display upgrade or GT 650M GPU upgrade in order to get the Core i5. The difference between a GT 630M and GT 650M is much more significant for gaming than the difference between a Core i3 and a Core i5, and having a 15.6" 1366x768 display is worse than having a Core i3 processor. If you get the CPU upgrade, then it should be additional to the GPU and display upgrades.
