I have a Pavillion notebook that I custome ordered from HP web site and it is the second generation Sandy Bridge Quad processor. I cant seem to find the specks for this unit on the HP website. Anyway I am considering adding a SSD as the primary drive and wonder what the SATA speck is for this unit. Any help would be appreciated. Any suggestions on SATA units would also be appreciated.

Thanks Kirrr I appreciate the info. Im assuming that you know because you have a similar notebook and are running a ocz Vertex SSD. I did get a chat with a HP tech and she informed me that the notebook was SATA II and not sata III. I would appreciate any supporting documentation you may have on this as I have had HP give out misinformation before and having acted on it subsequently had to return purchases because of their slack tech support.

I ran PC Wizard and it said that the bandwidth was SATA 3. HP told me that it was SATA 2. There is nothing in the printed literature from HP that tells us that the bandwidth is SATA 3. So who do you believe. Anyone getting any SATA 3 transfer rates with the Sandy bridge models
