also, does the bigger 5400rpm hard drive perform much better over the 4200?i really dont need an 80gig hd, but i thought i needed the 5400 to play games.
I will only be playing world of warcraft and surfing the internet on this notebook

the graphic card is too bad for WOW!
-
I've done some research on the dv1000.com forums and everyone says it handles wow with not problems at low settings. wow is not a hard game to run. -
yes at worst quality at that moment it will handle it !
but this game wont be played for more than a year.. and than what will you do stucking with the integrated media 900 ? -
well if he isnt playin wow after this then its fine, if your not a heavy fps gamer the video card should be fine, lol im running worms on my notebook =)
-
why wont i be playing it for more than a year?obviously, you have never tried it. If everyone that has actually owned this specific notebook has had no problems running it, then why would you say it cant handle it? -
Can you play WoW on a Intel GMA 900. Maybe.
Can you play it well? No.
You would rather get a better GPU in a different laptop that go for a 2Ghz Pentium M.
If you are doing ANY kind of gaming, an Intel GMA 900 does NOT cut it. This is my experience from many hours of hearing people being disappointed with the laptops they bought for themselves.
I would recommend a dedicated GPU for WoW, regardless of whatever you might want to play on. If you can spend $15 a month on an online game, you should pony up the cash to play it like it was meant to be played.
My laptop plays WoW great on near highest settings. Need some RAM though. -
Not sure how flexible you are on the specs, Comp USA has one with very similar specs on sale this week, $999

get V2000Z with ATI X200 , its better than integrated 900 media accelerator.
Is this the best price I can get the dv1000 for?
