Nope. Very quiet. Fan kicks on sometimes when gaming but that's about it.

Mine has always been quiet, until Microsoft released DeskScapes -- the Vista Ultimate extra that allows for motion desktop backgrounds. It's really cool feature, but the strain on the graphics card causes the system to get quite warm and the fan to kick into high gear after an hour or so.

The reason for raising this questions is because when I use bt to download something, the fan gets noisy. So I start using rmclock.

I think I will terminate bt and listen again.

My fan runs constantly and is annoying!!!! This started a few months after purchase (had Windows XP home at the time). I hoped upgrading to Vista Ultimate would help, but it still runs non-stop and gets pretty warm. Any suggestions would be extremely helpful. I haven't found anything else on the web, but am still looking.
    Thanks.

Mines is very quiet. The only time I hear it is when it gets hot and the fan starts to spin

The fan is always on here, but I don't think it is such a big deal. Ultimately, you need to cool your machine, so there is not much you can complain about.

If you want, go with a Thinkpad. They have the best heat management.

Don't even mention Thinkpad to me. My former T43P's fan noise made me utterly demented.

Compared to cacophonous T43P, the fan on my dv2000t sounds like a angelic whisper.
