I have a 6910p (Vista Business) and a HP Docking Station (EN488AA). Whenever I plug the 6910p into the docking station, it powers up the notebook immediately and starts to boot. I have used this dock on a different model HP notebook in the past and it didn't do this. I am running the latest BIOS and drivers. Is anyone else seeing this behavior?
If I undock the 6910p while it's powered up, then shut it down later, the next time I plug in a AC adapter it also starts to boot immediately (just like it does with the docking station). If the docking station was not used previously, plugging in the AC adapter into the notebook does not power it on when first plugged in.

I tried to track this some more and I have noticed that plugging in the AC adapter to the notebook will turn it on if it's been sitting off for hours, but it won't if I have just turned the notebook off recently. I am not sure now that is related to the docking station. Is anyone else seeing this?

It ended up being a system board issue. I am returning the unit since it was under 30 days. I am going to go back to a ThinkPad T61. Between the noise issues and this AC power issue I have lost confidence with this model.
