I have the quad edition dv7 (dv7-6100) with ATI 6770m. I just recently purchased the HP Elite L2201x 22in HD monitor as well.

The monitor comes as a displayport style, and since the dv7/vid card I have only has HDMI and VGA, I also purchase a displayport-male to hdmi-male cable.

I have done all updates on HPs as well as ATI's site for my laptop itself, and the video card. I installed the 2201x driver from HP, it "installs" tells me to connect and reboot. I reboot and the HD Monitor still just sits there black like it's not being detected...

Has anyone had this issue, or familiar with issues with HD monitors and this particular setup? The monitor was an expensive buy to realize it won't work..

You might get more help in the accessories subforum of the NBR forum if no one here answer as your question.

    -I don't know myself-

i assume you've right clicked your desktop, went to screen resolution, and selected the display?

yes. it acts like it doesn't detect the monitor as even being there...I can't figure out if it's the cable since it's a displayport to hdmi, or if it's an issue with my laptop HDMI not working correctly..
