hey there, ive recently purchased a new tv (panasonic gt30) which im incredibly happy with. ive noticed an odd problem when trying to connect my (original) envy 14 to it. i dont appear to be getting any display on my tv at all when connecting via hdmi. i can and have connected to other displays and tvs via hdmi (a 1080 monitor and a 720p plasma) without an issue, but just cant seem to get it to display anything on this tv.

when plugged in the laptop correctly recognises the tv, even properly switches to hdmi audio output (though no audio on the tv) however the tv appears not to get any input.

ive tried all sorts of combinations of resolutions, display options and refresh rates that i know the tv supports but just cant seem to get a picture. i dont think this is a tv issue, as ive got no problem connecting anything else to it via hdmi (dvd, blu ray, popcorn hour, xbox, other laptops/desktops at 1080p) and it certainly isnt the hdmi cables (ive got half a dozen). im fairly stumped as to what the problem could be.

ive updated all drivers, and tried a few different versions on the ati card (currently on the newest.. 11.7 i think?) but nothings working. tried changing settings in both windows display and ati control - im fairly sure ive exhausted all options! the laptop continues to connect to other displays without issue.

    any ideas?

try f4 options for screen output? there doesnt seem to be anything else wrong since it did connect to screens before.

    - type "display" in start menu and choose connect to external display to see whats going on/ if its detecting screen

    - type "sound", choose "Sound" in start menu and highlight HDMI output then make it default at the bottom right.
