I bought this laptop a week ago from Best Buy, its the special edition DV6585t...
    1) The biggest issue for me is when I use the volume buttons, the volume display screen pops up but just freezes instead of displaying the volume accordingly...

    2) Second, I noticed very small tear-like dots on my screen which at first i thought was just smudge but after rubbing hard would not come off...

3)Third, the right side of the Altec Lansing speaker is a bit out of place and could allow dirt to enter the speakers which then may damage the PC in the long run....

Anyone have these problems with their hp?
Thinking about returning the laptop but my dog messed up the original box!

I had the first problem, I disabled one of the quick launch programs and that solved it.

    2. maybe you can post a picture?

    3. Not on mine?

Best buy shouldn't give you trouble for a messed up box. I returned my bluetooth earpiece without the box with no problems.

I don't remember exactly, but I remember installing it from the HP website. I uninstalled it. Let me look it up and I'll post back if I find it.

Edit: so it's called QuickTouch software

The last post in this thread (by me) should solve your volume freeze problem without uninstalling any software (but uninstalling the QuickTouch software will also work as mentioned above).

Thanks for that. Do you know if there's going to be a fix for that? I like the feature :p

The only fix would be for HP to release better software.
