Well, after reading all of the reviews I could possibly find over the weekend, I finally had my new laptop narrowed down to either the zd8000 or the zv5000z. I preferred the zv5000 becuase of the AMD, longer battery life, and portability, but I am a game developer and I need a video card that supports shader2.0, so I went with the zd8000. I just placed my order an hour ago, and now I find out that HP will be releasing the zv6000 in March!! Ugh.

Does anyone know if HP will allow me to return my zd8000 to trade up? The website says I have 30 days for a full refund, but many websites have said that in the past and I never get my refund.

    Any suggestions?

I did a return with HP because I didn't like my R3000Z and returned it to get my R3000T. HP will not give you any problems with this. I ordered my second computer and sent back the first and had the money back on my card with in a week.

I called them and they were very helpful. They cancelled my order promptly. (The webpage said that orders could not be cancelled.)
They would not verify the release of the zv6000 though :( Guess I have to wait and see.

Most likelly becuase of the Weak GPU the RZ and ZV series have, Hopefully the ZV6000 will offer a better GPU. If so bye bye Zx5280! even tho it rocks.
