After the long wait, I finally got my computer today everyone! I got it around 9:30 this morning and I'm just now getting done taking down my desktop and establishing my wireless internet connection. I feel spoiled, I'm sitting in the living room and on the computer at the same time. I love it!

    Here is my setup:

    Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP Home Edition with SP2
    AMD Turion(TM) 64 ML-40 (2.2GHz/1MB L2 Cache)
    15.4" WXGA Widescreen (1280x800)
    128MB ATI RADEON(R) XPRESS 200M w/Hypermemory(TM)
    1.0GB DDR SDRAM (2x512MB)
80 GB 5400 RPM Hard Drive
    DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive
    54g(TM) 802.11b/g WLAN w/ 125HSM/SpeedBooster(TM)
    6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery

Eh, I do not have a digital camera and by no means am I an major techy.
My review probably wouldn't be any good for anyone.

By the way, I'm using a Linksys WRT54g wireless router.
I have never, ever, set up a wireless connection and it was simple as cake.
That is along with the help and suggestions from people on here.

Well I used two day shipping. Don't be confused, the two day quarantee is after it gets through customs. Mine shipping out at 11am last Thursday and I received it today at 9:30am.

This is an HP dv5000z correct? I'm ordering myself one of these with the exact same setup as you, except less RAM, cheaper video card, and the brightview. I'm buying RAM aftermarket and could care less about gaming. Is the laptop just as you expected? I can't wait for mine!

    jparker0201,

How do you like your non-brightview screen? Any impressions?

Oops, sorry I left the most important part out.
Mine is actually a Compaq v5000z.
I am in love with it. Much improvement from the desktop it replaced.
This is my first laptop and I'm not sure I have ever even used a laptop with Brightview so I wouldn't notice the difference anyways. It seems fine to me.

How much did you get away with yours for z5sharp?

The Compaq v5000z is the same as the HP dv5000 except it is silver instead of black. I got the computer cost to around $1000 but I still have to get some accessories: A memory upgrade, a sleeve, headphones, USB mouse, and a protective layer of plastic to cover my screen, wherever I get those... I'll be ordering within the next few weeks. Can't wait for my laptop!

Well, the HP is silver on the outside, black inside. I love HP's design. Simple. Elegant. Sleek. Also, the Compaq doesn't have Quick Play or XPMCE.

Delivery time 5 - 7 days is what they give but generally its delivered in 3 - 5 days. They ship 2 Day FedEx delivery - so don't need to choose 2nd day delivery option! It will deliver on 2nd day anyway.

I never quite got the idea of 2nd day delivery for the HP webshop in the first place. If it's gonna take weeks to build your laptop, does it matter if there's another 2 days to wait?

I got mine for 946.00 said and done. I would never use the quick play feature so I'm not missing anything there and as far as the other I have no idea what that is.
