    Hi,

I wish to get a dv4t, but I'll be going to UK on 2 of September. Just wondering it will take how long to build the laptop? Is it possible to get it from local shop in Boston? Thanks

**edit: I just tracked it and it says it's out for delivery, might see it today!**

expect to get yours atleast 4-5 days before the build date, my build date was on the 22nd, and i ended up getting it on the 16th! IT was at my door on that day, so it must have been built early, considering it was orderred on the 11th or 12th.

If you want a more accurate time frame, I would say give customer service sales a quick call and ask. Never hurts to try that. Also, local retailers such as Best Buy and Circuit City may carry 1 or possibly 2 options if they even do at all. That being said, if they do it is generally more CPU, RAM, and Hard drive upgraded with a basic IGP graphics solution. So, if that is not a concern then give their websites a check. I would also advice actually calling and asking a store representative because I know when I worked for Best Buy, a lot of times we would receive a model and have it displayed and selling sometimes up to 2 weeks before it was released to the website. The only downside to that was the fact that it would never go on sale until they put it up on the website for all to see, so you would be paying full retail for it.

I haven't seen a dv4t model in-store yet, checked at Circuit City as recently as Thursday afternoon.

I swear the day you get a new computer has to be one of the most exciting days...at least for me.

You're in a little bit dangerous situation if you decide to place an order on-line right now. The estimated build date for the dv4t is now September 3. Usually, customized notebooks from HP are built and shipped a few days before their estimated build date. However, there's no guarantee that you'll receive yours earlier or on time.

If you don't have to get it before going to the U.K., buy it later when you come come back to the U.S. If you are moving to the U.K. but want the dv4t, ask one of your family members in the U.S. to receive it and send it to you. However, if you don't care about certain specifications and just want the dv4t, you should be able to purchase the dv4t even in the U.K.
