I am quite surprised when I first discovered this problem, could someone share some insight on this?

Problem: Jerky HDTV playback on dv2500t, Processor NOT maxed out while playing

Computer: dv2500t with Intel C2D T7500 Processor, Nvidia 8400M GS video card, 2 GB RAM, Vista Home Premium

Files: HDTV recorded by my Vista desktop with much lower hardware configuration

I believe that my dv2500t is robust enough to play an HDTV file, but why the jerky playback?

What app are you using to play the files?

I tried both Vista Media Center and Windows Media Player on the dv2500t, got exactly the same jerky playback.

The same files play perfectly on other PCs with either Vista or Window Media Center OS.

Hm, try Intervideo's or Cyberlink's player just to see if you get the same result.

Thanks for pointing out the codecs aspect of the problem. Some post on the internet is talking about codecs too.

However, HP has an HD TV tuner to go with this laptop if you choose to buy it, and Vista Home Premium comes with HDTV recording and play back capability to complete the media center function.

It's build-in decoder should be able to playback ms-dvr files recorded by a media center pc, don't u think?
