I just received my HP Envy 17 today from FedEx and it's beautiful! Everything seems to be working well, with the exception of one feature...the Beats Audio volume wheel. It doesn't seem to adjust the volume or do anything when I move the wheel. I've tried using it within both WMP and PowerDVD, but nothing. When I click the wheel, the Beats menu comes up and I can adjust settings, but the wheel itself doesn't seem to work. Can anyone help with this? Thanks!

does changing brightness from the keyboard keys show an indicator on the screen of brightness level?
if not... download HP's OSD (on screen display) drivers? -
Its also a rare hardware issue that the wheel portion does not work. You need to reinstall the OSD drivers first though.

Yes, when I change the backlight brightness on the keypad, I do get an onscreen indicator. So, I'm not sure the OSD driver is the issue? Any other suggestions?

Does the on screen indicator come up when you move the wheel at all? I know with some applications, my indicator pops up and moves, but doesn't change the volume.
-
No, the on-screen indicator does not come up at all when I move the wheel.

click on "Driver - Audio (1)" to expand it
now move the volume knob. if the section doesn't collapse and expand - hardware issue with wheel. if it does, then wheel works but audio drivers are broken.
edit- thought it works on other browsers but only opera...... but if u wanna test it, worth a try. opera did this before and after audio driver on clean windows install.
