What happens when you install XP from an install cd slipstreamed with SATA drivers on a computer that does not have SATA drives? Thanks.

Nothing should happen, you WinXP comes with any drivers in it that your system doesn't have, they only get initialized if needed.

If all u have are IDE drives it just installs normally, only reason you would have SATA slipstreamed into an XP CD is IF or IN CASE you have a SATA drive now or in the future. -
I have a related question on the very same issue.
What happens if:
I disable SATA in the BIOS, install Windows XP, do not enable SATA and do not install SATA drivers? -
Then the drive will run in legacy (PATA) mode. No real world difference in a notebook.
