Hi, i just bought a DV7-7305eo and swapped to a Samsung 830 128GB SSD but i can't find the AHCI setting in bios. Does anyone know where it is? is there any AHCI setting?

It's set to RAID by default, which behaves exactly like AHCI when you have no RAID arrays set up.

Thanks for the info. It was Samsung SSD Magician that complained about AHCI but now i see that all the functions (performance opt/test) seem to work and the ssd performance is ok.

For best performance and stability, you should install Intel's latest storage drivers (for both AHCI and RAID):

Thanks, i was planning on reinstalling it with the latest drivers after i burned the recovery media. I have a W8Pro upgrade copy i bought cheap when MS had their rebate campaign.

About the Envy DV7-7305eo itself i must say i am impressed, it is a big step up from my old DV7-2135eo and finally the fan is not loud and not annoying :D.
