Hey guys, just bought my first laptop and its a HP dv series but to be honest i cant really tell what model it is.
    The box said DV2015NR
The top right corner of the LCD say HP Pavilion DV2700
The bottom of the computer on the sticker it sais DV2500
The service tag right next to it say DV2015NR just like the box.

    Anyways...

Laptop looks really sharp and its loaded with AMD Turion64 x2 1.90Gz with 2Gb of ram 160GB HD Sata 14.1 Brightview LCD dvd burner with lightscribe and wireless card ALL for $650 at best buy. Oh and it came with VISTA :(
Ive tried to downgrade but all i got was XP without any drivers and couldnt install drivers i got from HP SUPPORT SITE.

P.S if anyone knows how to downgrade and still able to use everything on laptop PLEASE tell me how because vista is not something i want right now.(Maybe in a year or so).

Well now you know everything about my new laptop and now maybe some of you could write some reviews about it or tweaks if you have one just like that. Thanks guys in advance ;)

Drivers are in the stickies. A x7xx series may not fully function with XP.

wow so it looks like it is the dv2715 the funny thing tho there is nothing on the laptop that says that. So i guess thats why the drivers i downloaded from the HP support page didnt work for me. I got everything installed just couldnt get wireless card and video card drivers working. I guess after all the hassle and troubles i installed Vista back and cleaned it up a little. It still uses about 480MB Ram on start up but i guess its ok. Pricewatch.com has some really cheap 2gb mem chips. Maybe it be nice to upgrade some Ram considering my GPU is shared and at the current moment its 128Mb, i had to chang some setting in BIOS to 128 from 64. Anyways thank you for letting me know what the model was.

In your opinion you think Intel Dual Core or AMD Dual Core is better?

i perfer intel right now because a 1.5ghz intel it more powerful than a 1.9ghz AMD. They also you a little less power, and create less heat. The only downside is that they are a bit more expensive.

I used to like AMD a lot with their Athlon 64 series. They were a lot better then the pentiums at the time. But that changed with the core 2 duos. Really hope AMD gets a new platform out soon.
