I just bought an HP Pavilion dv6700t to replace my two year old dv6000z.
How much faster is the new dv6700t going to run? Both have Vista. Although the dv6000z has 32bit and the dv6700t has 64-bit Vista. I am not using the laptop for games, just needed a laptop refresh halfway through college. Also, how hot is the laptop going to be? My dv6000z frequently got into the mid to upper 50s *C. Battery Life?
Here are the two laptops' specs
dv6000z | dv6700t

It'll be fast enough - if it's slow, you might want to install XP. I found Vista on my dv9700t (specs in sig) a little sluggish, but XP flies on there.

I just got the laptop today. It is MUCH faster than my dv6000z. Even with the integrated Intel GMA X3100, it FLIES with Vista 64-bit AND is runs MUCH cooler (In the 4 hrs I've tested the laptop, I've only had the fan come on 3 times blowing out lukewarm air vs. scalding hot air on my old one).
My Vista rating is a 3.0 only due to the Intel chip. But my old laptop was struggling with Vista on it and it had a rating of 2.8.
A word of advice: If buying a dv6700t, buy a T8100 processor. It runs cool, and is plenty fast enough.
Just bought new dv6700t
