    ... it fits my dv6700 easy even with the extended battery on. I love this backpack :) , just thought I should let anyone know who might be interested but wasn't sure it would fit in the padded laptop compartment.

    Hehe, I have a Surge too...too bad it wont fit my 17" dv9500t :/

    O well, I can stick it in the middle pocket...
