I think it's an awesome laptop and its my first, but I can't help but be disappointed with its performance. It is a T7200 Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHZ, 2 gigs of RAM, geforce 7400 go. I understand the hard drive is slower so opening programs feels slower. However, my in-game performance with my 7400 is worse than my 4 year old PC with a geforce 6600 gt, 3.06 GHZ pentium 4 procressor, and 1 gig of RAM. I am using CS:S as a benchmark. Someone told me on noteboorkeview that they could get, with my laptop stats, 70 FPS+ on CS:S on high. I can barely even break 35 or 40. This is worse than my geforce 6600 gt. I feel my computer overall is same or slower than my PC... why is this? I was thinking maybe because the vista drivers suck. Is this the case, or should it be like this?
BTW, I did not reformat Vista because I don't have a Vista CD. However, I dont think this would affect gaming performance.
If i put in XP and wiped out Vista, would i get much better performance because of drivers? thanks guys.

well i heard that nvidia are having driver problems right now....that could be the prob.

The geforce go 6600 is better then the 7400. Just to let you noe

But I'm using Vista on one of my setups with a GO7600 and I'm getting around 120FPS on CSS.

Are you using Vista or XP? Plus, did you reinstall Windows after you got your laptop? Those 2 things alone will go pretty far in increasing your FPS.
-
I'm using Vista. Is there a big FPS difference between using Vista or XP because of the drivers?
-
Vista is a huge game-killer right now. nVidia's drivers are not all that great for Vista right now, so... -
Should Vista be able to run not so graphic intensive games?

Definitely install XP on it if you have a copy around and game a lot. Do a search of these forums first of how to do a clean XP install, there's a trick to know.
Just got new dv6000t, kinda disappointed...
