I booted it up for the first time and it took a little while and it became glitchy on the start up windows normally screen. I got as far as the log in information page and I got bluescreened. I turned off the comp and let it rest and everything is working fine now. I'm just burning my recovery disks and such now.

My question is...is this worth calling HP over? My warranty isn't over for a year, but I don't want the problem to come back and double fold.

Finally, what do you think the problem was? The battery maybe? My system did recognize it as a uncalled for restart.

Title's a bit misleading. Should be "Just got an HP".

I would see if the computer malfunctions again within the next two weeks. If it does act strange, use the Return Policy to get a replacement computer.

If you want to endure a session of the pakistani telephone torture, AKA HP Telephone Support, by all means give them a call. I, myself would rather not. Only if you feel the issue is serious enough to be escalated, and you need a total resolution, would it be worth the effort.

Lithus has a good alternative for nearly new units. Perhaps if enough people would utilize such a resolution, HP might respond with better phone support. Then again, they probably would simply respond with a poorer return policy.

It happened again. I'm calling HP tommorow and asking for a replacement.

    I didn't pay 900 dollars for a broken product.
