One more thing. Since this laptop has the T8300, will it come with the latest version of the BIOS and other softwares since the T8300 was just released?
-
yes to the ram, and it should come with the latest bios.
-
Thanks.
BTW, all 8510p laptops have the GDDR3 version of the HD 2600, correct? -
Congrats anyway! -
Congrats Kain! It only took you 6 months
Don't worry you're going to love it.

Hi,
I'm also thinking of buying the same model and configuration of laptop as you did and would really appreciate if you could share some of your experiences.
I'm particularly interested in the loudness of the fan and battery life. It should be a little quieter and last longer on battery than the older models since it has the new Penryn processor.
I would also like to know if you have experienced any problems until now regarding graphics card, drivers, perhaps dead pixels or anything else.
Thanks. -
congrats , you made a great choice . i love mine , thinking of upgrading the processor in the next few months . will see how much better a score the new processors get

@ care
no problems for me. never had any issues with the graphics card or any problems with the screen or any other hardware. concerning the loudness of the fan- well either i do not hear too good, or it can´t be that bad
and the battery life is great, even with the old T7700 i own.
if you need an advice... buy it. i would buy it again if had to choose once more.
@ mako
and of course you can replace the cpu yourself, if you are a little experienced. Hp offers a repair manual with a step by step explanation for every ppart that can be replaced. -
As for heat, the laptop does seems to get a little warm during gaming but not too hot. Using HWMonitor, the idle temps for the CPU is around 40C with the AC plugged in and about 30C-33C with the battery. During gaming it's around 50C-60C if I recall correctly on AC power.
No dead pixels so far and the screen quality is pretty good. Viewing angles are not bad and the brightness is also good. No real complaints about the screen.
I currently have the stock HP drivers installed for the GPU and have had no problems regarding stability. I've installed CS:S and it runs great at 1280x800 with all max settings but without AA/AF and HDR. Get over 100 fps easy.
Overall, it's a great laptop and I would buy it again.
Just placed my order for the 8510p
