I have been following the " First Steps to a Successful Laptop" guide so far. I want to tweak this beast for the best experience, so here are a few common questions:

    - How do I change the switchable graphics to manual in the BIOS?
    - Any other tweaks or crucial updates?
    - Any CPU or GPU tests recommended to compare with your scores?
    - Also, how do I find out what series (60xx/61xx) is my laptop from this list of BIOS updates?

    Thanks!

I wouldn't oc straight to 850/1000. What works for you might not work for him. Start off lower and work your way up if it is stable.

What does Reil's touchpad app do? And where do you download it?

By the way, I can run my 6770m at 850/1000, but only do that when I play fps games, no need to burn energy and lessen the life of the gpu when just in windows or a movie, that is what the intel is for.

About that, i'm using it with the recommended settings and my click is very annoying...
For example if i click on VLC it goes fullscreen instantly like i had double clicked.

And if i want to do a simple click i have to make a longer contact with the pad but it's very unnatural...

Otherwise flying around feels a lot better, just this clicking issue if someone knows what setting to change so i have the default one.

The Radeon downclocks when max clocks aren't needed, just FYI.

You might want to disable pinchzoom with Reils, because on mine it makes the pinch zoom go crazy.

Thanks, but could you please explain what Reil's app does?
I have the same laptop as you and I think my touchpad works fine,
but I am not much of a touchpad guy, I usually plug in a mouse.
Touchpads always are a pain in the @ss. Before I bork HPs native
drivers, what will I notice with using Reil's? What will be better?
Will I not feel the need for a mouse anymore? Thanks

You won't bork the native HP drivers anyway. It just lets you modify settings on top of the built-in touchpad settings. It makes the touchpad more responsive to multitouch and refines the scrolling.

It's still no substitute for a mouse, but you can't always use a mouse.
