Hi all,
I just had a chat session with an HP rep about VISTA and about Nvidia GO 7200 being put back in to the DV2000t. I was told 1) that VISTA will be ready (pre-installed) on their laptops by the 30th of January, though the upgrade is still available and there is no need to wait until the 30th if I wanted to buy now. Then I was told that the DV2000t will now only be offered with the Intel 950 graphics card. I didn't ask why. I mean, what good would that do now, you know? I was told that if I still wanted a Nvidia graphics card, that I would need to go with the DV2000z (AMD).
Well, I guess I could do that. I mean, I don't need this thing to be the fastest or the nicest... I just need to surf the net, read/write emails, download/listen to music, etc. There's a great deal on the DV2000z right now too- lots of free upgrades and the $200 coupon is valid until 1/24. When I configured it, it all came out to around $875 (shipping and taxes included). So I guess HP has left me with no choice but to go with the DV2000z. :-/

I guess HP just want to have their clear cut of the production line.
If you want 7200 or up, then go with 6000. 2000 is just for mobility(HP sense). Or they discover some heat issue with 7200 in 2000t? -
It seems they don't want to answer the question over the 7200, as many have tired to get them to answer it, but they keep evading the question.

Yeah, who knows! The person answered pretty quickly, but I made sure to ask again in more detail as I knew they might try to go away from the question. He just said that it is no offered any longer and the only option now would be the DV2000z with AMD. So, whatever! I would like to know why still, but didn't inquire on that.
As for going with the DV6000t, I thought about that. Especially since my lappy will hardly ever leave the house. BUT it just seems so much bigger than a 14" to me (I've compared in person). I want something comfy to sit on my lap, on the bed, etc. We'll see...
Also, does any of you know when HP actually charges your CC for payment? I need to order before 1/24 as that's when the coupon expires, but my tax money will not be in my acct. until 1/26. Does HP charge right then and there or not until it actually gets ready to ship? I heard it's the latter, but need to make sure.

It charges CC right way.
I would suggest you to continue to press hp about 7200 card. The answer I got about 1 week ago is that they are currently out of stock. -

I just got my dv2100t on Friday and it has the nVidia 7200 card. It was built the previous week so I guess they do have the cards in stock. My order was placed by a service manager (replacement for a faulty dv6000) not through HP's website.

Whatever the case may be, I hope they continue to support the Go 7200 when Vista comes out as far as releasing driver updates. I heard that it scores lower in the Vista Advisor than the GMA 950 and the only reason I can think of is because of the drivers.

yeah you should just get the dv6000t
i acually called hp yesterday, and i asked if they will be getting any new hp coupons in the near future (the $200 one just expired)...
so i asked him, and after waiting for a long time, he transfered me to another guy, and he, all of the sudden, started asking me the specs i wanted, and he was thinking that i wanted to buy the dv6000t over the phone. I told him i didnt want to order over the phone, all i wanted to know is if they are getting more coupons in, and he said if it expired then you cant use it, and i asked him again and he said that they wont be getting any more coupons, so i hung up...
i ended up buying the dv6000t with the specs in my sig, last night -
I guess I just bought the last dv2000t which comes with a Go 7200 card.
Because I saved the page after customization. After a few days, I went ahead to place the order using that configuration even though the graphic card is no longer available on the hp site.
The order was accepted and it is now already shipped to Anchorage Alaska. I am expecting to receive it in two or three days. -
o wow ur lucky

Just so y'all know, HP is offering the nVidia GeForce Go 7200 again in the dv2000t.

Maybe i should have waited those 3 extra days!
