I had to re image my SSD several times due to "System Thread Exception Not Handled" error while trying windows update and standalone installing, after some time I found a post particular to HP Notebooks and found uninstalling SPTD Driver did the trick, System thread exception not handled is often associated with a driver error problem as is the case here.

Can be downloaded from here for 32 and 64 Bit Windows Systems:

    DuplexSecure - Downloads

Download, run and then choose uninstall SPTD then update KB2919355

Heres the order of installing these updates, must install to receive future windows updates

    Order of install

    1. KB2919442(Probably already installed)
    2. KB2919355
    3. KB2932046
    4. KB2937592
    5. KB2938439
    6. KB2949621(winserver 2012 R2 only)

KB2919355 will install twice, 2nd install will be less than 1st install and add features not installed in 1st install, thru Windows update.

Without SPTD my HP Pavilion notebook runs no problem.

    Cheers
