    hi guys,

i got an Envy 15 last week and i LOVE it! however i have a problem, the function keys along the top have some 'issues'

if i hold the 'fn' key and press them they work as F1 F2 etc as expected but some of them dont work as they should when pressed on their own!

The brightness, media, and screen selection keys work fine but the F1 key doesnt bring up help as it should and the f12 key doesnt lock the system! This is annoying as i use my laptop at work and lock it whenever i go away from my desk so pressing 1 key to lock would be very useful! The strange thing is, it worked fine yesterday but isnt working today! :S

Any help would be appreciated, cheers guys

What I would like is to have my function keys back! I use F5 a boat-load more than I do anything else...annoying as all hell!!!

I guess it depends on the application you are using and the operating system and so on, nothing wrong in general or with the hardware

No, nothing wrong with my hardware (so I guess I am thread hijacking) but was wondering if any way to remap the keys so FN does the brightness etc. rather than the way it comes stock.

You just click F12. The default setting is without holding fn key. If you want a normal keyboard, you can change it back in bios.

Hey, great tip! Thanks, didn't think of looking in the bios. Have it set like a standard keyboard now and much happier...better for gaming too!

    Thanks again. Mk
