Hey guys,
I've had my laptop for a few months, since around July. Recently (the last two days) my keyboard and touchpad will stop working, with the only way to get them to reactivate is to put my computer to sleep and then reawaken it. This has been happening every few minutes. (It's taken me 3 resets on this message alone). My external mouse will still work.
Any idea what's causing this, and if there's any fix I can try?
Thanks

Anyone? Using an onscreen keyboard sucks

Update. Using osk, I can hit capslock once after the keyboard and touchpad has been disabled, and they will work again momentarily, until I hear a beeping sound while typing and they go out again.

There something wrong with the keyboard. You might try taking apart the computer and seeing if the keyboard is connected correctly. But I would try to contact HP as I am not certain about the touchpad. The manual is on my signature if you want to take a look.

Uninstall them in Device Manager, then restart your computer and allow Windows to install fresh copies of the drivers. Then you can go to HP's site and get any updates.

My keyboard and mouse were somehow working fine for about the last three days. It stopped working again today

Has anyone found a fix or solution to this? I use a usb mouse (logitech 515) which appears to install a keyboard driver as well, but i'm not certain this is the problem. though it does seem that the Synaptics drivers disable the ps/2 ports as if there are usb devices being used. If i unplug the usb unifying receiver then the keyboard and touchpad work briefly. If i plug it back in then they will work for a few seconds and stop again. if I uninstall all the devices from the device manager, leave the usb dongle unplugged, and restart...the touchpad and keyboard will work long enough to log on and maybe open a program or two, then quits again.
Keyboard and Touchpad start working intermittently on DV6TQE
