    Hey,

So yeah, DV6t owner, spec in sig.

totally randomly today, it seems, my n ad b keys stopped working/responding. I tried cleaning the keys and all with compressed air and whatnot and no change/improvement. resorting to pasting in the letters when i type which takes forever...

any ideas/suggestions as to whats wrong/whether it something i could fix? really don't want to have to send notebook to HP and wait however long for it to return ad all that...

    thanks...

    Hello Cassandra022,

Its possible the keys may be defective. If that is the case I would recommend contacting HP. If you need assistance in doing so please email me your product and contact information to [email protected]. Please include in the subject line Attn: Veronica-NBR.

If you felt comfortable doing so - you could first attempt re-seating the cable for the keyboard onto the mainboard. Though, IMO, I wouldn't place much faith in that solving the issue. And a keyboard isn't exactly considered a user-replaceable part by HP. You may get lucky and they would send you the part (if that is what the issue is), but odds are very good that they will want you to send your unit in.
