    Hi everyone,

I am having a problem with my keyboard... the "x" key in particular. At first it started out with when whenever I pressed the "c" key, an x would always come after it. Then the same thing started happening with any key around it (c, d, s, or z). Whenever I touch the X key, it is EXTREMELY sensitive. So I pulled the key off, blew on it, used compressed air on it (as well as the whole keyboard, etc). I replaced the key, cut on the laptop, and now every key that I press on the left side of the keyboard has an X come after it. Sometimes a whole bunch of x's come after it as if I'm pressing and holding the X key. I called HP and I could hardly understand the rep (India of course) so I couldn't really get any help about it. The warranty on it JUST ENDED last month :( :(

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't mind ripping open the laptop and pulling the keyboard out.

You could order a new keyboard if you are sure that the problem is in it. Use the manual http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00530488.pdf to open the laptop, get the part number of the keyboard and order it through HP partsurfer

Or you can try to clean the keyboard and the contact points while the laptop is open. It may help.

Sounds like the rubber under the key has collapsed.
