I also seem to be having similar problems to the users who posted in the Keyboard problems topic about the dv8000, but in this case it is with a dv5000. the problem is that sometimes i will have caps lock off and I will be typing in all caps, when I click something it will try to select all, and when I type numbers, I get their shifted keys and when I have caps lock on it will be all lowercase. This only happens once in a while, maybe once every couple of days and it only stays like that for a couple of minutes and I do not need to restart my computer to fix it. But I am wondering if this problem is worth worrying about or not. Thanks in advance

I also experienced the random CAPS LOCK problem on my HP DV5130us and found that HP had a new BIOS update as of 12/18/2006. Here is the link I used to update by computer: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp34001-34500/sp34305.exe .

So far so good...but the problem is random so time will tell if it fixed the problem.
