Hi, everyone.
When I took my L2000 to school, I couldn't connect to the school printers. IT told me to bring it in so they could fix it. Whatever they did didn't work so I brought it in again for them to fix. They told me everything was fine now, but it wasn't. When I called them about it they pretty much told me that they don't know what's wrong with it. Out of the 120 people in my class, I'm the only one with this computer so I don't know if it's a problem with just my notebook or with the L2000 series as a whole.
I learned to deal with the ever present fan noise and the heat, but the printing issue may be a dealbreaker.![]()

PoF,
How are you trying to print to your schools printers (LAN, USB, LPT, Wireless)?
Also, how is the schools printers setup, networked (connected to via an RJ45 network cable or by wireless print server) or shared (connected to another PC and shared off)?
If it's a networked printer, you should be able to access the printer via an IP address from either wireless or cabled LAN. All you need are the printer drivers on your system and enough user access rights (assigned my the network admin) to be able to print to the printer.
If it's a shared printer, it's generally the same. You need the IP address of the PC that is sharing the printer as well as the correct drivers installed in your computer. Since it's the schools network, you'll also seen the appropriate user access rights (assigned by network admin) to access the printer.
It's a good possibility they didn't give you the necessary security level to access the printer. You'll have to speak to the network admins to get the necessary level applied to your account. If you bring the system in for them to "fix", make sure you test it while you're there to make sure it works before you leave.

Your firewall may not be configured to allow for your notebook to communicate with the networked printer. What security program are you using?
