I'm seriously considering this laptop, but I'm wondering what kind of run times you're getting w/ the 12 cell battery. Battery life is important to me and anything less than 4 hours would not be acceptable.

The other laptop I'm looking at is the Dell Inspiron 6000 which is suppose to have pretty good battery life. However, I'd prefer going 64 bit if possible...

    Thanks for your input!

Keep in mind that in the PCMagazine review, the processor was clocked at 2GHz. I am also concerned about battery life, as I have an L2000 on order. I opted for the 1.8 GHz, should be here any day. Has anyone done the battery bench test on their L2000 yet?

Also, if I'm not satisfied with the battery life or heat am I able to get my money back under HP's warranty? Thanks.

A warrenty is only to repair and/or replace defective hardware parts of the system, not refunding. If you ordered it from hpshopping.com, they have a 30 day return period.

Yes, you can. They have a 30 day return policy if you are not totally satisfied...

WOW, that's pretty darn long! I think my decision is finally made...

I live near a Sam's Club and that seems to be the best deal, although it only comes w/ the 6 cell battery. I guess I'll just order a 12 cell through hp.com.

The amazing thing is, just like Costco, Sam's Club has a 6 month return policy, no questions asked!

    Thanks for your help!

I have another question about the 12 cell. How much higher is the laptop with it than the 6? I want to get this case: http://www.sjdesign.com/laptrap.html, but I'm afraid it may not fit.
    Also, is it noticeably heavier?
    thanks

    6 cell: 13.15" (L) x 9.1" (W) x 1.29" (min H)/1.53" (max H)

    12 cell: 13.15" (L) x 9.1" (W) x 1.29" (min H)/2.17" (max H)

So, 12 cell is 0.64" taller.

It will make L2000 slightly inclined, which may be a good thing
    for more ventilation (cooler run).

I find the keyboard to be much more comfortable with the incline than without. :D

Get the 12 cell; that will get you 4+ hours. The 6 cell will not

There is also evidence to suggest that the 12 cell machiens have less heat buildup due to better ventilation.

I should be able to verify this tomorrow.
My L2000 is with 6 cell battery. The heat build up
is noticeable. 12 cell battery should arrive tomorrow.
I really hope that it helps with heat issue. Otherwise,
L2000 is going back to HP. A shame, given it's such a nice
    notebook.

The L2000 should get around 5 hours of battery life with the 12 cell battery.
