Is HP going to offer an L2000 model without Lance Armstrong??? The yellow stripe is not as annoying as the signiture.... I like the weight and availability of the Turion-64....just don't want Lance!

    Very soon:

Some stores have them in stock. Of course, the retail models don't have all the goodies you can get with Configure-To-Order.

Right now they dont have one without the livestrong logo...but they probably will soon release the Compaq V2000Z which will have no such logos and will be in Compaq silver.

    Or Techdepot/computers4sure.com ;)

P.S.- I bet CC & CompUSA have it, too...at their kiosks in-store...doubt BestBuy, though.

Why is the Compaq so much pricier than the L2000? (at least by $200)... and I thought the L2000 was going to donate $50 too...

Interesting point. Even with the L2000 upgraded from the basic model to match the basic z2000v on Costco's website, the L2000 comes in roughly $130.00 less. Wonder if they actually want to help sell more L2000s, hence raising more money for Liverstrong? Or maybe it's just a accounting goof

Nothing unusual here...quite frequently the CPQ R4000 has been pricier than Hp's Zv6000 on HpShopping.com....it's called a promotion....But, is it logical?...No

Yep, its basically marketing. They probably have certain limits on what the percentage sales of each laptop would be.

The V2000Z is not even officially launched yet, so I think by the launch date the prices should come down a bit.

Costco, Staples and Techdepot all list the V2000z with only 2 usb ports and no
mention of IEEE port. Staples actually lists 3 usb and 1 firewire when you initially
get to the description page. But when you get to the customize page, it then says 2 usb and again no mention of firewire. Could the V2000Z really have one less usb and no IEEE?

I am mostly sure that it has 3 USB and 1 firewire port since they are standard on the L2000 which is basically a V2000Z in black & HP colors.
