I've never had as many issues with a computer than I have with this laptop.
The recent issues that I can't seem to figure out is that today my LAN port stopped working. I know the wire isn't bad because my old laptop gets internet access fine but when I plug it into my DV6 it doesn't do anything. Wireless works fine though.
The drivers are installed and device manager shows that the hardware is working fine. I have tried uninstalling the device and it's drivers and rebooting and reinstalling but it still does not work. The funny thing is that it worked fine last night. When I run the windows diagnostics on the LAN Connection with the ethernet plugged in it just says that the ethernet cable is improperly inserted or damaged (which it isn't or it wouldn't work with the other computer).
Second issue is that sometimes I unplug my headphones and the issue I get is in the screenshot below. It seems as Windows gets confused and has sliders for both my headphones and my laptop speakers (windows "click" sounds come out of my headphones but all audio comes out of speakers). It randomly fixes itself but if I need it manually fixed I either have to restart or log off / back on.
All my drivers are up to date. Any suggestion on what I can do to fix either (or both) of the issues?
Thanks.
