I recently purchased a HP 5101 Mini with a bad LCD. The picture shown on ebay, shows to big black spots, dead pixels. Own says the it got crushed. I have not received it yet, expect it end of week. It still powers up and runs well. So I will be replacing the LCD screen. I have done a lot of repairs in my (A+ Certified, Federal Employee, Thank god, I finally got a job) time, hinge repair, hard drive failures, keyboard replacement, etc. But never a LCD screen replacement. So I have a few questions.
1. Will any HP 5101 LCD screen work?? (I have seen them priced from $50 to $200).
2. Is it really difficult to replace??
3. Any "how to" on the web??
Any information would be appreciated.

First get the Service manual from HP. Direct link: http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01846062/c01846062.pdf
Instructions how to replace LCD begin at page 52.
There's 1024x600 and 1366x768 displays available. According to that manual, you need also to replace display cable depending which resolution you choose. (free tip: always choose the 1366x768, it's worth the price)
