Does anyone know the model numbers of the LCDs that HP shipped in the dv6500z laptops? A friend of mine dropped his. The only one I've been able to find is N154I2-L02 REV.C2 I'm not sure if that's a 'compatible' one or one of the type that HP used. I want one of equivalent quality of the one he got in his laptop, new.

HP uses several different models so you don't need the exact one. Yours is made by Chi Mei. I'm not sure how picky the dv6500 series is about screens.

Search eBay for dv6500 LCD. Ideally I'd get a LG Phillips screen, model name starts with LP, LP154WX4 looks promising. There are several variants of that model so you might want to get one that the seller will guarantee works with dv6500's just to be safe. Or pick your favorite screen manufacturer, another Chi Mei, or just buy the cheapest one :D.
