Does anyone know the update on when HP will be using LEDs for the screen? The hype of brighter, longer lasting screen leading to better battery life sounds great! Wonder what the pricing will be.

And the screen life is shorter, not longer.

The screen life is shorter? Makes it a tough sell to change over (unless there's a lot of battery savings).

Would you mind posting a link to more info?

Shorter life? I don't think so. Studies show that LEDs outlasts other bulbs and runs cooler on less wattage. And LEDs don't degrade in brightness over time.

I've read that a top end Sony Viao laptop and another maker uses LEDs. The screen should be brighter and the contrast better.
