I had purchased the following laptop bag for my HP DV7TQE which i am returning in a few days:

Case Logic VNC-218 18-Inch Laptop Case

This laptop bag (or carrying case) is now coming apart even though i have not put anything in it other than my laptop and the accessories like the power cord and also a mouse and a small external hard drive.

I now have an Envy 17 3D and wish to know what laptop bag/carrying case everyone else is using for their Envy 17 laptop.

I had the Swiss Gear Legacy 15.6 for my other laptop...lasted four years...still in great shape. I like Swiss Gear alot...but the PSU on the Envy is so large...need the room...

I travel about 8-10 times a year...so you are right...gonna be nuts going through security with that one..

Well right now the Slappa bag holds my Envy 17 3D, my mini power supply, the original huge power brick, mini laptop cooler, a few folders with documents, a CD/DVD case with about 20 discs, my 3D glasses, and a bunch of smaller stuff (usb sticks, pens, cables, etc). It still has plenty of room for more stuff.

Slappa also has a new rolling laptop/3-day bag. Looks cool and has the easy access flap for airport security.

People I work with also have SwissGear and it was probably the defacto standard for most travelers who wanted a durable bag. I was about to buy one myself when I found the Slappa website. They were also named "2011 Best Laptop Bag Brand" in the About.com Reader Poll.

Check them out, either way you can't lose with SwissGear or Slappa.
