Hi all,
I am using a HP Pavilion DV4 series laptop for the past 18 months. Till now, it has worked fine. Nowadays when i disconnect the main power adapter once the laptop battery has charged to 100%, the battery indicator shows immediately that only 72% charge available..If i plug the adapter again, it again shows that 100% fully charged.. what happens here?? Does it get fully charged or not???

run hwinfo32 and check the battery wear level in the smart battery tab.

What should that wear level tell in real life? Is it 0% working, or 0% dead?
Every time I remember to check that in any laptop, it always shows wear level as 0%, no matter how dead the battery really is.
This tc4400 had 0% wear and roughly 38% battery shown when "full" charged. Yesterday laptop died after 15mins use and now "full" is about 13%. Wear level is still 0% but I can clearly say one more cell just went dead.
Batterybar shows Wear 0,0% of 56160mWh and Capacity 7420mWh of 56160mWh. Go figure
New battery is already comingI'm just afraid air mail won't reach me anytime soon now.

HWM Pro gave me accurate readings on my battery in my 8510-p , showed when it was going dead , shows my new battery going down about 1-2% every 2 months which sounds about right as my last battery died after 21 months . As they age they go downhill faster . Been 4 months and battery is now at 96%

Laptop Battery stands only at 72% when unplugged
