Hi, I just ordered a new hard-drive for my old HP ZX5000. My current drive is on it's way out. After removing my old H-drive (toshiba) and replacing it with my new western digital it's not being reconized in the BIOS or when I try to load XP to it.... Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

My guess is you ordered a SATA drive and its not being recognized ----- only solution is to order a new drive.

What you mean it's not recognized? Be more specific.

What happens when you boot off of the XP install cd? Does it recognize your drive?

Even if he ordered a SATA drive, it would not physically fit in his IDE connector. So if he plugged it in successfully, he got the right type which shouldn't cause the SATA incompatibility with XP.
