Well I ordered a DV8000T in August of 2006 and had nothing but problems with it.

After numerous attempts to repair it by HP I recieved a DV9000T. To my dismay this Laptop as well has had nothing but problems. My Case Manager said that they would be replacing my Laptop with something of equal value.

My question is where does something of equal value stand? Because the DV9000T Series is discontinued. I guess I should push for a DV9500T with an 8600 GS?

    Thanks

usually if they discontinued your model or parts then they give you some "upgrades" that are slightly similar to your original notebook

why dont you call and ask them? maybe you can ask them for some upgrades, you know "for your troubles!!!" ;)

Unfortunately I managed to get a horrible Case Manager. The first thing he said was we will process the replacement right away but please be aware you will be getting a system with the exact same specifications.

I also waited three weeks just for him to contact me and the only reason I got through was from the help of someone who responded to an E-Mail to Mark Hurd. (Spelling?)

So right now I'm pretty p*ssed off because this is the second time getting my computer fixed has taken over two months.

I guess when it comes down to it I will tell my Case Manager what hes going to spec my replacement as or I want to talk to his Manager regarding the Lemon Laws. This is just getting ridiculous.

well how can he give u the same exact specs if its discontinued? unless they give you a "refurb" not sure if hp actually does that but it could happen.

also i think you should talk to his manager or someone higher up the ladder. tell them that he was very unhelpful and did not make things easier. also tell them how long you had to wait for him to contact you. basically just complain and over exaggerate when you talk to them and seem pissed. that should work. it usually works for me when talking to company support. companies like hp always wants to keep their customers. (most of the time)

Yeah thats what I was about to say but I just got all four of my wisdom teeth pulled so I didn't feel like having any long conversations.

I just want my replacement Laptop with equal or better specs built and shipped to me asap!

I already tried talking to someone from Corporate they were extremely unhelpful and said I could not switch Case Manager's as it is against regulations.

I guess I'll call him today and demand to know when I'll be recieving my Laptop and if its gone through. If not I guess I'll ask to speak to his manager.

Man I have to have my wisdom teeth pulled soon too :(

I've been there, all I can say is remember to be polite and just hold in there, it will all work out but may indeed take some more time.

yeah but sometimes (most of the time) that does not work, sometimes you have to demand things to get them done!!

Yeah I say you demand what you want because YOU PAID for it and so its their job to fulfill their side of the deal. You worked for that money not them so you have a right to bitc* if they are giving you a hard time. Good luck and I'm praying I don't get a lemon..lol.
