Man, i dont even know how many times this laptop has given me problems.....

but just today it gives me another...

so basically i get a small pop-up at the corner saying that it doesn't recognize the device plugged in the usb. So the next moment my mouse goes dead, i try to replug it in and nothing happens... so i try plugging something else in. I plug my keyboard where my mouse was and it also seems like it doesn't work. I plug the keyboard back to the original spot and guess what, all of a sudden that doesn't work either

so i try with my last usb port which is charging my ipod (3 in total) i tried to plug my ipod w/ usb to the other 2 ports and i get the charging signal on my ipod just that i don't get the automatic pop-up of itune where i usually get when i plug it in a usb.

So basically two out of 3 usb ports don't recognized the devices but still have power running through.

    the laptop model is dv6308ca

any idea whats wrong and a fix for it?

    Thanks

Try taking the CMOS battery out for a while. Fixed it for me (though with a different notebook).

Have you tried taking out the main battery, unplugging the AC and holding down the power button for 30 secs?
