My spouse has a compaq laptop. Recently, we bought a DLink wireless stick for our desktop pc, and everything was going fine. The net hiccuped a bit, and then went back on. No problems.

Then, later today, her net just conked out, while still going strong on the desktop pc. Her laptop's got Vista on it.

What's going on? We're both getting highly frustrated. Thanks in advance.

There's a chance the wifi fried on her laptop. Try checking under device manager to see if the wifi device is still there.

Nevermind, reset the router this morning when even the desktop suddenly had the same thing.

Any idea why this happened so I know in the future to prevent it?
