    Hey there!

    I was wondering if anybody had any problems with loud fan noises on a Presario v6000?
    There's like 3 types of fan noise on my laptop. One's a low fan, medium then high. Mine runes on medium most of the time and heck it's loud!

    I bought this one on summer 2007, so it's been a lil more than a year. (Meaning, I doubt there's a warranty anymore.)

    I while ago it was just fine, until summer came and of course the room was kinda hot. That provoked my laptop's fan to continuously run for hours and hours and it's really loud. It's even loud on idle, which is really annoying especially when I'm at the library or in class. Right now, I'm just typing this post without a cooling pad (I'm not at home) and the temperature's at 55C. Other than that, I used to play games on this laptop that it sure did rise the temperature and caused the laptop to overheat-- and shuts itself down. I bought a cooling pad from Zalman series and it improved my situation.
    It would be nice if anybody would have any suggestions on calming my laptop's fan down?
    I know you can use a can of compressed air and clean the fan.

    Or maybe I change the settings to control the fan's settings?

    Thanks for the help! :) Other than that, there were no problems at all.

    If you know you can use compressed air, then surely you know how well it works at cleaning the dust out and cooling your system down.

    In addition to using compressed air, you could also apply thermal compound or undervolt the CPU.

    yeah...it sounds like your lappy is clogged with dust...i would open the vents and clean with compressed air...
    don't blow air on the fan without stopping the blades because you can damage it fyi

    @plsdonotbug
    I know how to use compressed can as a method, but I never disassembled a laptop before.

    @Bog
    Thanks, I never heard of that before! I'll keep that in mind.

    @Vivere
    Thanks. Let's just hope I won't screw up the lappy even more because i have no experience in opening them...

    you don't necessarily need to open it. You can try sticking something into the vent and holding the fan, then blowing air into it.
