This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Laptop gets fewer tv channels than tv

    I have a HDX18 with the tv tuner, and am using a splitter from my converter box (I don't watch much tv, so no cable, older tv.) Neither HP's MediaSmart now Windows Media Center gets as many channels as the tv does. I've scanned more than once. In fact, every time I scan I get fewer channels.

    What? Why?
