Hi all,
I just wanted to ask about how graphics card drivers work on laptops. I have a Pavilion DV2535ea with a Geforce 8400 and am currently running the graphics drivers which came with the system. I am used to regularly updating my graphics card drivers on my desktop so though I would do this for my laptop, having downloaded the latest Geforce 8 series driver from the NVIDIA website they will not install. I am told that there is no matching hardware on my system.
Are laptop graphics drivers handled differently than desktop ones? Will HP themselves release updated graphics drivers for my laptop?
Thanks for any help

I don't remember the particulars, but you can't just use the Nvidia files straight away. You need an .inf file. There is some site on the net the provides an adapted file set. Be aware that it is hard to compare versions between HP and Nvidia because they use a different numbering system. It is all quite odd. Sorry, but I don't remember the site. I have seen it mentioned here before though, so use the search function.

laptopvideo2go.com and/or tweaksrus.com.

Jetstar - what video card are you using and what driver version have you found to work well? There are so many there and many seem to have complaints posted.
Thanks. -
Use the newest Bioshock drivers 163.44

163.44 confirmed working PERFECT with 8600M GS card so shoud work the same with 8400M GS.

Just to confirm are these official graphics drivers? Would they void my warranty at all?

just as FYI tweaksrus.com is no longer up, they have moved to tweakforce.com
