Its badly scratched all around the body...dont know what kind of ******* quality testing they do over there, but its badly scratched and a small hole-like thing has been created on the touchpad(some material has come out of it,and I feel that small crater-like thing while moving my finger over it  )...There are scratches all around the edges of the lid and some small dents near the three LEDs at the front.....  Now please someone tell me what to do because I had maintained the laptop well(apart from the scratches near the infinity display)...I am absolutely dejected...
Should I call up Hp and screw them or should I take it to the service center again(those guys there are illiterate and know nothing...) so please help me out and tell me what to do...

You should return it . Either Fed guys or the service center guys caused the damages. Low paid repair guys and QCs, who don't make over $10/hour and under pressure of quantity over quality, really don't care.
Remember that only cheapest bidder get the contract of service for HP. Depot tech is required 1 laptop/hr, and QC is under pressure of 15 minutes/laptop, that's why customer will suffer the poor quality of service.

Wow, another horror story of getting your laptop back all f'ed up.. So ridiculous, I mean really, what kind of service is that?

You go out of your way to keep good care of it, just to have some jerkoff at HP totally ruin it.

I'd call and demand something be done.

Yeah, I read story after story (including Consumer Reports) as HP's service being the worst of any major manufacturer. Not low, the worst.

Sadly they make Dell look like Nordstroms. I would be getting a Dell but they simply don't have a high enough video card yet in Studio's and haven't refreshed the XPS.

That is why I think I'll temporarily order from Costco. Gives me 90 days to pray Dell comes out with something.

BTW, after reading these forums, it's no wonder everyone says to take pictures and use a newspaper in it to show the time/date. Then, take them to court. Seems to be the only way to get what you need.

And send communication to them via certified mail after you can get an address. Do a few, then file in court. Don't waste your time if they d!ck you around.

Probably a new hire or a daydreaming guy did a mistake, wrong screw at a wrong place, then you suffer.

These poor guys have to run for quantity; there is no difference between a cheap and an expensive laptop. They only need a number at the end of the day.

But,at the end of the day I am at loss..I am the one who is going to suffer......I had been maintaining it so well and one day at the "Service" center and the system comes back all messed up! Its such an awful feeling....get really annoyed when I see those scratches... I had just called up the online tech and she told me "If its a mistake on their part, then they will replace it for you"...I also asked her to try and convince them...
Btw,the "Service" center is in Bangalore,India...
I AM going to take this up seriously and will have it replaced......

I honestly feel Dell was a lot lot better in such situations(had a Studio 17 before and returned it).

i always thought these kinds of problems are specific only to North America, are they ? now you are in india ? it seems very strange for me, since at my place hp is doing a really good job.

i have had my 8510p in repair in germany and i was overwhelmed. not only they exchanged the broken display, the installed the latest bios and cleaned the notebook from the inside ( coolers heatpipe, vent).
when it got back from repair it actually was unharmed.

here in Europe, especially Germany i have not heard of a single case ( doesn´t mean there are none) concerning bad repairs , scratched notebooks, bad customer support...

anyway demand a replacement for the notebook. see if they go along with their promises.
as stated before , document everything. it would have been best if you had some photos of your notebook before the "repair".
