Hey everybody. For some odd reason, my laptop makes a beep every time I open/close my laptop lid.
It's coming from the speakers and not the Motherboard. If I mute the sound, I wont hear a beep.
The beep is the one thats usually made when connecting / disconnecting an external device. If anyone knows what the problem is or has experienced it, please let me know. Thanks

My laptop doesn't make a beeping noise when a device is disconnected, but if yours does, I would think that closing the screen would be like disconnecting it in a sense.
So, do you know how to disable the beep when hardware is connected? That seems to be the key to it. Maybe do a Google search.
Hope you get it... -
Thanks alot for the help

I think, closing the lid turns off the screen with a beep.

I get this aswell not a big problem but can be annoying. Non of my external devices get disconnected though so im guessing its the screen that does it.

I know exactly what you are talking about.
It's not a "beep" sound, it's a pop sound.
You can fix it by installing the Conexant Audio drivers from the HP website. -
@ illmatic8. You know the sound when you disconnect a hard drive. That's the sound it makes. I haven't really gotten down to fixing it. I'll look into it tonight and see what I can do.

My replacement laptop makes the same noise when I close the lid. My previous laptop didn't have this problem.

I know it's weird, but if you mute the volume, you dont hear it. not a motherboard sound.
