This forum is a great resource of quality information. But it does no good if HP doesn't hear about your concerns.

I prefer to contact HP tech support through their chat system.
    http://h20179.www2.hp.com/ipgna/caller/chat.asp?productCategory=18703

    Call them at 1-800-474-6836

    Or use their e-mail system - http://wwemail.support.hp.com/fd2/E...ntrycode=us&sni=hppavilion18703&lang=en&cc=us

Perhaps your concerns will prompt HP's engineers to find a simple solution to reduce the heat generated on the left-side of the touchpad.

I'm sorry, but their online chat system is manned with probably the most unknowledgable people. I recently had a concern regarding a discrepency in the specs of my unit. The support rep didn't even know the difference between a DVDR and DVDRW media. He kept me on the line for over an hour going in circles. He then kept ending the chat indicating that the problem was resolved. I finally gave up as I would have been there for another hour if I didn't.

But I do agree that all problems must be documented with HP so that issues can be tracked and escalated. This is the only way HP will know of the specific on-going issues.
